Matthew 9:36 from the Deaf Bible

"Jesus saw the many people and felt sorry for them.  Jesus felt sorry for the people because the people were worried and helpless.  The people were like sheep without a shepherd to lead them."

Even in Jesus' day the people were worried and helpless.  They couldn't keep the law because there is no power in law, and they couldn't keep the faith because they were only taught the law.  So God sent Jesus to teach us and to lead us ... just like a shepherd leads his sheep.

How fortunate we are to know the voice of our Shepherd!  We know there are answers beyond what we can understand, and we know the answers apply to everyone.  When we read the Bible, the Holy Spirit speaks quietly to our hearts and says, 'It's true.  Jesus loves you, too.  He will keep His promises.  He's coming again soon.'

Jesu cares for you.  He watches over you, intercedes for you, and values your friendship.  Trust Him today, and go where He leads you.  Take someone else with you if you can.  He is waiting at the end of the journey ... for you and everyone you can lead home.

John 5:17 from the Deaf Bible

"But Jesus said to the Jews, 'My father never stops working. And so I work
too.'"

Many people were followers of the law during the time Jesus walked the
earth as a man. The law told the people not to work on Sunday, because it
was a day set aside to worship God. No where in the Bible does it say that
God stops working, only that people should stop working and spend the day
resting, having fellowship with the Lord and meditating on His word and His
works.

God never stops working. He is always watching over His Word, to make sure
all of His promises are kept. The processes of life and birth, seed time
and harvest, learning and teaching all continue around the clock. There is
never a time when God can't hear and answer a prayer, heal a broken heart
or enjoy victory over sickness and sin.

Jesus, like the Father, worked all the time, too. That doesn't mean that
Jesus worked at doing something twenty-four hours a day. He knew that
sometimes He had to be alone with God to fellowship and seek
direction. Sometimes He just enjoyed His friends, sometimes He travelled
and sometimes He rested, but He never missed an opportunity to do the right
thing.

Our Father never stops working to show Himself mighty on our behalf. Now,
Jesus is seated at God's right hand in heaven, and He never stops working
either. He always prays with us, always defends us against that accuser,
the devil. And He always intercedes for us, asking God to move when we
believe for something. The Holy Spirit never stops working to comfort and
lead, revealing all things to us in God's time. God is always
working. Why? He loves all of His children very much,

That means that we can keep working, too. All the things we want to do for
God that require supernatural help can be done, because God is always there
to help, always working. What do you want to get done for the Lord
today? Ask Him. He's right there waiting for you to ask, so He can help
you. And He is always successful, always right on time, and always
motivated by His own great love.

Always!

Too many christians are pillows when the Lord wants them to be pillars

Genesis 1:1-2

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was
without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the
spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." KJV

One day several years ago I was driving through the Salt River Canyon. It
was a beautiful day: blue sky, big white fluffy clouds, winding
road. Suddenly I came over a little rise and in front of me was a huge
wall of red rock mountain. It just rose straight up out of nowhere,
beautiful and solid, richly colored and rocky; the Superstition Mountains.

I asked the Lord, "How did you get all these mountains and rocks to rise up
like this?" The spirit of the Lord spoke to my heart. "I called them", He
said.

Wow! Just picture it. God made the earth from various elements, chemicals
and minerals all pressed together in the shape of a ball. He turned on the
sun for heat and light, and the moon for tidal pull, He added water and set
it all to spinning. Then He called to it, and the very rock and stone was
in such a hurry to be in the presence of God that it rose straight up to
answer Him.

It's the same way with people, you know. We start our lives before we know
Jesus without form, really: just a loose collection of elements like
creativity, compassion, organizational skills and discipline. Then the
spirit of the Lord comes and moves in our lives and turns on the light of
His love. Before we even realize it has happened we start to become the
thing He intended, like the red mountains: beautiful and strong and filled
with rich gifts and great promise.

Now that He has started stirring all the elements into the shape He wants,
He's calling you. Rise up to meet Him! Be in a hurry to get in the
presence of your Creator! Let Him continue to mold all your elements into
the likeness He has chosen for you - the very image of His only Son!

Joshua 10, 11, 12
Life itself can't give you joy unless you really will it. Life just gives
you time and space, it's up to you to fill it...
Matthew 6:33 from the Deaf Bible

"The thing you should want most is God's kingdom and doing the good things
God wants you to do. Then all these other things you need will be given to
you."

A man from the biker ministry was telling us his testimony today. He said
that he had been doing lots of drugs and other bad things for many
years. One day he went to church with his wife, and he told God, 'If you
want me to follow you, take all the drugs and alcohol out of my
life." After that he never wanted to use drugs or drink ever again. After
a while, two of his friends from the old life asked Jesus to be their
savior, as well. Why? Because they saw the good change in his life, and
wanted that good change for themselves.

The man said, 'it's only two of my old friends.' Wow! Two new babies for
the kingdom of God. Even one new believer is an awesome thing. We get
busy in our lives and forget how important salvation is. The truth is,
salvation is the most important thing in this life. Jesus died to save
us. He would have died to save only one of us. There is no more important
thing that we can pray for, work for, hope for, give money to or humble
ourselves to promote.

The Bible tells us that whenever a new believer asks Jesus into their
heart, all the angels in heaven stop and celebrate! They probably don't
stop and party when a president is elected or the Nobel prize is awarded,
and they certainly don't get excited about the academy awards on tv. The
only thing that makes heaven take notice is the salvation of another soul,
the restoration of that precious eternal connection between our loving God
and His beloved children.

Let us not forget the value of salvation. To Jesus, it was worth dying
for. To us, it should be worth living for.

Joshua 8, 9

Happy Anniversary, CeCe and Phil!
A saint is like a window--he lets the light shine through.   John 19:30 from the Deaf Bible

"Jesus tasted the vinegar. Then He said, 'It is finished.' Jesus bowed
His head and died."

It is finished. When Jesus said this He was probably talking about His
work, the job of reconciling people to God. We know He died such a
horrible death so that somehow our sins could be forgiven and our spirits
could be joined back together with God.

To us today, those words mean something more. 'It is finished.' It is
already done.

Jesus took our place. His death gave us freedom, salvation, deliverance,
healing and restoration. Already gave us those things. It is finished.

If you are believing God for a healing, it is already done. Your
deliverance is already done. The salvation of your loved ones, the
restoration of your marriage and your finances, the changing of your heart
from a heart of stone to a heart of flesh is already done. In the spirit,
you have all that you have asked for. Believe it, and soon you will see it
made real in the natural world.

Believe it. Why? Because Jesus Himself said, it is finished.

Joshua 5, 6, 7
God loves everyone, but probably prefers "fruits of the spirit" over
"religious nuts"
Philippians 4:13 from the Deaf Bible

"Brothers and sisters, continue to think about the things that are good
and worthy of praise. Think about the things that are true and
honorable and right and pure and beautiful and respected."

The things of life can be overwhelming sometimes. Bills and war and
cruel behavior in the streets are scary. Families are breaking apart,
churches are closing their doors. The government gets farther and
farther away from God every day with laws about no prayer in schools and
such like. There are shootings in the streets in many neighborhoods,
and terrorists around the world.

It would be easy to become depressed about all those negative things.
But the Word tells us not to think about the negative things so much
that we can't operate in faith.

Continue to think about the things that are worthy of praise. Jesus is
worthy of praise. The Bible is worthy of praise. Jesus is true and
honorable right and pure and beautiful and respected.

When we can't find any thing else to think about that isn't negative, we
can always think about Jesus and His love. That will cheer you up, and
revive your spirit. Sing or sign a little song of worship ... your day
will get better. That's His promise!

Deuteronomy 32
Some of the best preaching is done by holding your tongue. Psalm 91:4 from the Deaf Bible

"You can go to God for protection.
He will protect you,
like a bird spreading its wings
over its babies.
God will be like a shield and a wall protecting you."

When a bird spreads its wings over its babies they become invisible: an
enemy only sees the mother. The wings also keep away the sun, wind, snow
or rain, providing shade in the summer and warmth in the winter. Most of
all, the shadow of its mother's wing means safety, security and love to the
little ones underneath.

Baby birds know the best place to be is under that sheltering wing. People
have a safe place also: right under the protection of God's love. We can
grow and become strong in His secret place, safe and well cared for, until
we are strong enough to fly.

Thank You, Lord, for keeping us safe!

Deuteronomy 30, 31
We're too blessed to be depressed.   Psalm 93 from the Deaf Bible

The Lord is King.
He wears majesty and strength like clothes.
He is ready, so the whole world is safe.
It will not be shaken (destroyed).
God, your kingdom has continued forever.
God, you have lived forever!
Lord, the sound of the rivers is very loud.
The crashing waves are very loud.
The crashing waves of the sea are loud and powerful.
But the Lord above is even more powerful.
Lord, your laws will continue forever.
Your holy temple will stand for a long time.

Don't be afraid of the earthquakes and tidal waves. God has been on the
throne for a long time, and He will be there for a long time to come. His
love and His power will help keep you safe.

When heaven comes, everything that was beautiful in all of creation will be
restored. All of His children will be there to see and enjoy it with Him.

You'll be there, too!

Deuteronomy 28-29

There are two things that I've learned.
First, There is a God.
Second, I'm not him.

Psalm 17:15 from the Deaf Bible

"I prayed for fairness so I will see Your face.
And seeing You, Lord, I will be fully satisfied."

Many times we seek the hand of God. We ask for help, salvation, healing,
deliverance, guidance ... we ask for lots of things.

Instead of seeking God's hand in our lives, we should be seeking His
face. We have a unique opportunity to get to know our Creator better, to
love Him and live with Him.

We can see the hand of God move and still want more in this life, but when
we see His face we will be fully satisfied.

Hallelujah! What a day that will be

March 29, 2005 Deuteronomy 26-27 Conversion is going into business with God Psalm 75:1-3
"We praise you, God! We praise you. You are near and people tell about the amazing things you do. God says, "I choose the time for judgment. I will judge fairly. The earth and everything in it may be shaking and ready to fall, but I make it steady."
There were earthquakes again in the Indonesian Islands today. Whole nations have been destroyed recently by earthquakes and tidal waves, and many people are very frightened. We don't need to fear the disasters of these last days. God is near, and He makes our lives solid and steady. If we establish Jesus as the most important thing in our lives, everything we need will be provided for us, and He will keep us close to His heart.
